Little known fact about me: I love quokkas.
If you’re not familiar with quokkas, you should know that they are the happiest animals on the planet. And even if that’s an exaggeration, which it might be, they are definitely the happiest LOOKING animals on the planet, which is why I love them.
If I were an animal, it’s basically a certainty that I’d be a quokka. They are my spirit animal.
A quick google image search yields these darling results:
I mean, can you even? THEY ARE SO HAPPY.
So you can imagine my outrage when I was scrolling through IG this morning and discovered, via one of the 17+ quokka accounts I follow, that Sad Animal Facts started a rumor about quokkas a couple years ago that quokkas THROW THEIR BABIES AT PREDATORS.
Allan Daxon, who is like the ultimate quokka whisperer, narrated a rebuttal to this horrible rumor, and you need to see his text exchange with the Sad Animal Facts chick.
Anyway, it was important for me to share this information with you all, lest you somehow become snowed by this incredibly deceptive FAKE NEWS about quokkas and their baby throwing.
You’re welcome.
