Huh. This is interesting.
So, you’ve heard about all the Katie Hill drama by now, I’m sure. Essentially, a bunch of photos and salacious details about her personal life came out last week, including rumors of sexual relationships with staffers in her office and from her campaign team. Apparently, she had a rather ugly divorce from her husband, and claims that he’s leaking the photos and spreading the rumors.
So now? She’s resigning. She wrote a full resignation statement here.
It is with a broken heart that today I announce my resignation from Congress. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I believe it is the best thing for my constituents, my community, and our country.
See my official statement below. https://t.co/RO8B0znc6C

While no date is given in her letter, there are rumors that she’ll be gone by the first of the month.
Nancy Pelosi is down to clown with her decisions, saying, “[Hill] has acknowledged errors in judgment that made her continued service as a member untenable. We must ensure a climate of integrity and dignity in the Congress, and in all workplaces.”

Interestingly, it’s none other than Rep. Matt Gaetz who has come to her defense, saying she’s a victim of revenge porn.
This is just absurd. The only person who seems to have a gripe is @RepKatieHill’s soon-to-be ex.
Who among us would look perfect if every ex leaked every photo/text?
Katie isn’t being investigated by Ethics or maligned because she hurt anyone – it is because she is different. https://t.co/Czrc2k8z8X

Look, I don’t know anything about anything when it comes to Katie Hill or her personal life. I just know that if Katie were a Republican this would have exploded into a far bigger story. Anyone with an ounce of honesty knows that.
But there’s also the matter of her paying an alleged “campaign bonus” to her alleged male lover (not to be confused with her female lover on staff). So this isn’t just about how Katie spent her private time – it’s how she spent her our money. I’m not sure if her resignation will put an end to the House Ethics Committee investigation that was started to look into this bonus payment.
Anyway, another one bites the dust, as they say.
