As I mentioned earlier today, Ted Lieu had his little heartbroken when what he thought was his GLORIOUS moment was squashed in an instant.
It all started with this little exchange:
Lieu: “The reason you did not indict Donald Trump… is because of the OLC decision. Is that correct?”
Mueller: “That is correct.”

Brilliant Questionning and analysis from Lieu ππΌππΌππΌππΌ

“YES! WE HAVE IT! THE SOUND BITE WE NEED!” the Democrats cheered.
OUCH. Democrats were circulating Mueller’s exchange with Ted Lieu on the OLC opinion as one of their big talking points.
Mueller just blew it up in this hearing. “That is not the correct way to say it.” #MuellerHearing

WOOOMP WOOOMP.
Ted Lieu even retweeted his “big moment” replayed on the cable news that Mueller just walked back. Sad! pic.twitter.com/3lYB2roU7e

This is so embarrassing for him, because as I said, MuellerΒ COMPLETELY walked that back:
Mueller adding a correction to his testimony this morning…
“I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu who said, and I quote, ‘you didnβt charge the president because of the OLC opinion.’ That is not the correct way to say it.” pic.twitter.com/H0iUJ03nyi

Mueller clarifies his response to @tedlieu in the Judiciary hearing, that he βdid not charge the president because of the OLC opinionββ βThat is not the correct way to say it,β Mueller said. βWe did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime.β

Mueller explicitly backs away from his comment to Rep. @tedlieu that Trump would have been indicted but for the OLC opinion. Mueller says that that is not quite correct, and he reverts to his standard phrasing that he did not reach a view on that. An important backtrack.

Lieu is now in disbelief. HOW COULD THIS BE?! WHAT HAPPENED?!
HE HAS A THEORY:
Rep. @tedlieu responds to Robert Mueller’s clarification regarding guidance against indicting a President: βI don’t know who got to him, I donβt know who talked to him, but that was very odd.β https://t.co/hKfyEFb7BC pic.twitter.com/kasLWHrjVu

LOL!
Basically, Lieu thinks Mueller was compromised because he didn’t get the answer he wanted.
That is one THICK tinfoil hat you’ve got on there, bub!
