Democrats are LIVID At President Trump’s Patriotic Fourth of July Plans

President Trump has been talking about having a GRAND patriotic celebration in DC for a while now.

Originally, he wanted to have a military parade. Those plans were canceled apparently when the city of DC quoted an ASTRONOMICAL price for security and logistics.

Well, POTUS has decided to have a different kind of party… and Dems are LIVID at the idea of him “politicizing” a national holiday.

According to Fox News:

President Trump has taken charge of this year’s Fourth of July celebration in Washington, D.C., and will possibly give a personal address, angering some Democrats who fear the president will politicize the holiday.

That’s rich.

Democrats have absolutely no problem politicizing ANYTHING. What they have an issue with here is anything that gets Trump any positive attention.

If Obama wanted to do something special for the Fourth of July, they’d be slobbering all over it.

Rep. Betty McCollum, a Minnesota Democrat who chairs the House Subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies, told the newspaper that Trump’s address would undermine the spirit of the celebration.

“It’s not about any one president. It’s about how our nation came to be, because of a hardy band of brave men and women,” she said.

“It’s not about any one person, it’s about ‘We, the people.’ And if the president moves to make this about him, I think he will find the America public disappointed and angered by it.”

Again – I’d put money on Rep. Betty McCollum having a VERY different reaction if Obama wanted to give a celebratory speech on the Fourth of July.
