So as Hannah mentioned a few days ago, Apple CEO Tim Cook recently visited the White House, and President Trump called him “Tim Apple.”

Have a laugh: President Donald Trump called Apple CEO Tim Cook — “Tim Apple” and it’s now a trending topic pic.twitter.com/TMDTaWgbcT

We all kinda giggled. It was an innocent mistake. Who cares?
Even Tim Cook seemed to think it was kind of funny:
TIM APPLE!
Well… I’m usually all for Trump’s tweets. But today, he decided to explain the “Tim Apple” situation… and it just seems rather unnecessary to me:

See? I don’t get this. How is this a easy way to save time and words? It seemed like a simple mistake, and I didn’t think ANYTHING of it. Trying to come up with some excuse as to why it WASN’T just a simple mistake seems silly. Everyone makes mistakes. Nancy Pelosi can’t get through ONE sentence without saying Bush is our President or wishing us a Happy Thanksgiving on Valentine’s Day.
I think Trump would have been better off just ignoring the situation entirely. He misspoke. So what? This excuse feels like he’s trying too hard to prove he never makes mistakes… and that’s just silly to me.
Just laugh and move on! We all did.
