I wrote a post about late-term abortion due to a disability, and my own, very personal, experience a while ago.
The doctor had no clear explanation for why and how I was healed. He called it a “medical miracle.”
I just call it a miracle.https://t.co/IoeDUjj1gJ

I was horrified at a comment that basically implied those with “disabilities” should not be allowed to live:

Hannah, Mock, and I all detailed our own experiences. To which someone replied:

OK. So does this justify killing them off? Kill people because they COULD face chronic depression, suicidal thoughts and significant anxiety?
My question: at what point is a life worth living? If THIS is the argument, should we just kill anyone with chronic depression?
I find more and more that this is actually a fairly common outlook. (Not the murdering of those with depression -mind you) People with disabilities don’t live “good” lives, and so their lives aren’t worth living.
One father has faced the same sorts of comments… and so he’s fighting back in one of the most powerful threads you’ll see in a while:

This is a really powerful message.
Is anyone really ever “ready” for this?
Of course not.

UGH. Those EYES. Is she not an angel?

No one could POSSIBLY have something awful to say about this, right?
WRONG. They do.

Oh dear GOD. I wonder what this person had to offer. Probably a gluten-free diet or something equally moronic. You don’t “cure” Down Syndrome. FFS.

YES.
THIS.
ALL OF THIS.
