When it comes to Jussie Smollett’s attack, we still have more questions than answers. There’s no proof that anyone said anything about “MAGA Country,” and while police identified two people of interest, but we don’t really have much beyond that.
Police say both Smollett and the “persons of interest” walk out of frame (on different cameras). Smollett would reappear on a different camera about a minute later. So basically for about 60 seconds Smollett is not on surveillance camera.

Let me clarify. On one camera the “persons of interest” are seated at a bench. ACROSS the same street, Smollett is seen walking. Smollett is recorded on that different camera walking. The “persons of interest” are also seen walking, but on the other side of the same street.

Truth be told, those two people could have nothing to do with any of this. We just don’t know.
The next time Smollett is seen on surveillance camera, he is entering a condo building. Police say he now has a rope around his neck and is “wearing it like a neck tie”. About a minute (maybe less) has passed since he was seen on video.

Some people have been wondering about the rope thing. Why did he leave it on? Isn’t that kinda bizarre?
… there are reports that Jussie had the rope around his neck long after the incident when he was being treated at the hospital. We’re told that is not the case. He did have the rope around his neck when cops arrived at his building 42 minutes after the incident. The sources say he kept it there to “preserve the evidence.”
Alllllrighty then.
Since we’re on the subject, you should also know that the police aren’t going to force Smollett to give up his phone.
Johnson said the department wouldn’t require Smollett to hand over his cell phone, which police said Thursday he has refused to do. Requests made on Thursday to Smollett’s representatives for comment about the cellphone were not returned.
“He’s a victim. We don’t treat him like a criminal,” Johnson said, adding that the actor has “been very cooperative with us” in the investigation.
“Jussie has told the police everything from the very beginning. His story has never changed, and we are hopeful they will find these men and bring them to justice,” Smollett’s family said in a statement.
I certainly hope we get more answers, and if this DID really happen, the individuals who did this to him MUST be brought to justice.
