Pelosi rejected Trump’s proposal before he even made the formal announcement. She called it a “non-starter.”
“Unfortunately, initial reports make clear that his proposal is a compilation of several previously rejected initiatives, each of which is unacceptable and in total, do not represent a good faith effort to restore certainty to people’s lives,” she said in a statement. “It is unlikely that any one of these provisions alone would pass the House, and taken together, they are a non-starter. For one thing, this proposal does not include the permanent solution for the Dreamers and TPS recipients that our country needs and supports.”

Perhaps that’s what Trump wanted to happen. Maybe he knew they would reject this. I certainly don’t see any of this making Democrats look good. They look like obstinate kids who refuse to even TALK. Trump at least looks like he’s trying.
I don’t think Pelosi knows how to deal with someone like Trump. She’s calm on camera, but I think she’s probably dumbfounded and slightly frantic behind closed doors. She thought her little SOTU “power move” would do something, but Trump flipped it right back her way and cancelled her trip MINUTES before departure.
Trump is playing her game, and at this point, I think he’s playing it better.
All that being said, he has a message for Nancy this morning.
Nancy Pelosi and some of the Democrats turned down my offer yesterday before I even got up to speak. They don’t see crime & drugs, they only see 2020 – which they are not going to win. Best economy! They should do the right thing for the Country & allow people to go back to work.

No, Amnesty is not a part of my offer. It is a 3 year extension of DACA. Amnesty will be used only on a much bigger deal, whether on immigration or something else. Likewise there will be no big push to remove the 11,000,000 plus people who are here illegally-but be careful Nancy!

I love that he’s telling us what’s going on behind the scenes. And I love even MORE than Pelosi hates it. The left’s “transparency” shtick is fake. Democrats want everything to be shrouded in secrecy.
Don’t forget, we are building and renovating big sections of Wall right now. Moving quickly, and will cost far less than previous politicians thought possible. Building, after all, is what I do best, even when money is not readily available!
