Scientology Spokeswoman Writes Absolutely Batsh*t Letter To A&E Blaming A TV Show For A Murder.

Do y’all watch Leah Remini’s show exposing how completely wack the “Church” of Scientology is? I love that show. It’s a total guilty pleasure of mine, and I’ve watched it since the beginning. There’s something that’s always fascinated me about Scientology – probably the same thing that fascinates me about any kind of freakshow – it appeals to that part of my brain that is super curious about other people’s brains and why they work the way they do.

Last week’s episode was extra interesting – they talked to a bunch of ex-Scientologists about how much money they were basically forced to donate for Church “services.” The whole thing is such a colossal scam, and so many people have been damaged by the Scientology organization, but thanks to Bill Clinton giving it tax-exempt status when he was president, the “Church” has managed to buy up billions of dollars in real estate and is beyond rich, all while their membership allegedly keeps dwindling. I’d like to think Leah Remini deserves a lot of the credit for their diminishing numbers. The fewer people that fall into the grips of that cult, the better.

ANYWAY.

Throughout the entire program, Scientology lawyers have been bombarding the producers of the show with letters refuting all the claims made in the show. Their letters all sound the same – they blame every ex-Scientologist for basically being bitter, they deny the abuses that take place, and they insist that Leah’s show is all about bigotry and hate. They’re absolutely ridiculous.

But holy crap, you guys, check out the letter that one of their spokespeople just sent the show about a murder that recently took place at Scientology headquarters in Australia (via Daily Mail):

Karin Pouw sounds like a freaking lunatic. Remini’s show isn’t hate-filled at all – it simply allows victims of Scientology to share their stories, all of which sound REMARKABLY THE SAME, because they recount the abuses of the Church that are consistent across the world, and are routinely verified by ex-members.

I checked out Karin’s Wiki, and she’s got quite a history of making preposterous excuses on the behalf of the “Church.”

We’ve received emails from Scientologists, desperate to convince us to change our views on the organization.  I’ve engaged with those people because I’m so curious about why they refuse to see what’s right in front of their eyes, but invariably, once I start asking questions they don’t want to answer, they check out of the conversation.  As Remini’s documentary captures so well, the people who’ve escaped the church all have to reach their own “moments of truth” – that rock bottom trigger that is their personal final straw.

Anyway, now Scientology is blaming a TV show for murder.  But LEAH REMINI is the crazy one, y’all.
