KUSI, a local station in San Diego, accused CNN of ditching their local coverage of the border for shady reasons.
Thursday morning, @CNN called the KUSI Newsroom asking if a reporter could give them a local view of the debate surrounding the border wall and government shutdown. After we informed them about our past reports, they declined to hear from us.

We believe CNN declined a report from KUSI because we informed them that most Border Patrol Agents we have spoken to told us the barrier does in fact work.
We have continuously been told by Border Patrol Agents that the barrier along the Southern border helps prevent illegal entries, drugs, and weapons from entering the United States, and the numbers prove it.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the least. After all, CNN has a narrative it needs to uphold. Walls are racist, ineffective and mean! We certainly can’t have the men and women who work at the border telling the American people that walls work. Imagine what that would do to the left’s narrative!
CNN has responded to KUSI’s accusation. They’re denying it and trying to dismiss the entire thing as a run-of-the-mill kind of thing.
We called several local stations to book someone for a show. We didn’t end up booking any of them. That happens many times every single day. We did, however, book a reporter from KUSI for a story on immigration and the border wall in November. This is a non story. #factsfirst🍎

That might happen often, but it doesn’t combat the accusation. The decision makers at CNN probably saw what KUSI had to offer and decided that the report was inconvenient, so they deemed it irrelevant and moved on.
You probably didn't use any local stations because they all said the same thing. Walls work. We in San Diego know that.

@CNN and several employees feeling mighty defensive these days. Wonder why 🤔

If they were honest, they would’ve gone with it. It’s something the American people need to hear and see for themselves. But again. This is coming from the same outlet that employs Jim Acosta. Nothing should surprise us.
