January 4, 2019Pelosi and Schumer just got out of their shutdown meeting with President Trump. They looked deflated and defeated. President Trump isn’t budging.
Schumer said he made a plea to Trump to “not hold workers hostage,” but Trump told him he’d keep the government shut down for as long as it takes in order to properly secure the border.
I think Pelosi and Schumer believe that makes Trump look bad. It actually made me smile to myself. Trump is standing firm. He’s not bending. He’s making border security his top priority.
