As an avid New England sports fan, I find this extremely offensive.
HAHAHA. Just kidding. I don’t care. They hate us ‘cuz they ain’t us.
According to this, there’s one NFL team America really doesn’t like. It is…the New England Patriots. NESN has a regional “hate map,” showing which areas hate which NFL team the most.
Such is the case with a new “NFL Hate Map,” which shows the most hated team in every state, per geotagged Twitter data tracked by sports analytics site zcodesystems.com. After running a query in each state for phrases like “I hate (insert team” and other negative outbursts from the last 30 days, the folks at zcodesystems.com discovered that — drum roll, please — America hates the New England Patriots.
We know, we were shocked too. Hopefully you were sitting down, or something.
You can find that map right here.
As I suspected, I live in hostile territory the majority of the year. Florida hates New England. It doesn’t matter though, because I love reppin’ New England sports in hostile territory. I always look forward to going back to New England and seeing loads of people reppin’ New England sports gear around town. It feels so right. There’s nothing quite like seeing the Pats logo on your Dunkin’ cup. YAAAS.
In case you’re wondering, the New England area’s most hated team is the Jets. I guess I get it, but I think it’s a waste of time. They haven’t been much of a threat lately, but I will say that I generally can’t stand New York sports fans. #SorryNotSorry.
Whatevz, though. The Patriots are basically America in football form. We just keep winning. Others hate us ’cause they’re jealous. We have that magic touch. We’re the best. We take the underdogs and make them superstars. We take mediocre players and make them better. And we win. A lot. SO MUCH WINNING.
Half-kidding, half-not.
Anyway, there’s widespread hate for the Pats. No one should be shocked by this.
