As Mock mentioned this morning, Kevin Hart has stepped down from hosting the Oscars after he caused outrage for some past “homophobic” tweets.
I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.

I’m sorry that I hurt people.. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.

The “homophobic” tweets were from 2011. One of them said, “Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay.’”
Another tweet from 2010 referred to someone’s profile picture which Hart said looked “like a gay billboard for AIDS.” He called someone else a “fat faced fag.”
Comedians were still allowed to make jokes back in 2011, so while I’m not necessarily a Kevin Heart fan, I think this is all ridiculous. He made jokes. Some people didn’t like the jokes. Now he’s enemy number 1?
To be perfectly honest, NO PART OF ME intended to watch a bunch of liberal blowhards pat each other on the back anyway, so I couldn’t care less whether it’s Kevin Hart or a gigantic stuffed penguin hosting the awards.
Billy Eichner’s suggestion though? That’s taking it a step too far…
Let @BetoORourke host the Oscars. We all like him and it’ll be a real test to see if he can handle an impossible job in front of the world!

Dude. NO. GROSS.
But wait…
That could very well strip him of his popularity in the south, if he clearly affiliates himself with the “Hollywood Elite” 🤔

No worries. He is not popular here.

HA!
That would either kill his career or get Trump re-elected.

Yeah we all like him…

On second thought… LET HIM. I might actually watch Beto O’Rourke make an enormous fool of himself.
