Alec Baldwin’s parking spot brawl feels like AGES ago. Remember, he allegedly punched someone in the face over it.
“I observed the defendant push me and then strike me across the left side of my face with his closed right hand, resulting in pain to my face,” the victim, Wojciech Cieszkowski, stated.
However, Baldwin denied throwing a punch.
“Normally, I would not comment on something as egregiously misstated as today’s story. However, the assertion that I punched anyone over a parking spot is false. I wanted to go on the record stating as such,” he said.
I don’t know exactly what happened, but I DO know that Baldwin has a history of getting in people’s faces.
On Monday, it became official. Baldwin has been charged with “attempted assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree.”
He did not enter a plea and was released on his own recognizance after the brief appearance at New York Supreme Court.
While the actor has maintained that he never punched anyone over the parking spot, prosecutors said he did tell a police officer that he pushed the man.
‘He’s an a**hole. He stole my spot. I did push him,’ Baldwin allegedly said.
However, Baldwin’s lawyer, Alan Abramson, says there is video evidence, which will prove Baldwin’s innocence.
“There is incontrovertible video evidence that has been turned over to the district attorney’s office that proves beyond all doubt that Mr Baldwin never punched anyone,” Abramson said.
“We’re confident that once this matter is full investigated, it will be resolved swiftly and appropriately in court,” he added.
We’ll see what comes of this eventually, but that’s the latest.
