It’s become clearer and clearer in the past few years that America is becoming increasingly divided.
Sure – much of that cuts across Democrat/Republican lines. But I feel that much of divide seems to come from urban v. suburban v. rural upbringings. Hence the Democrat/Republican values.
I’ve straddled both in my life. I personally LOVE city life. I also live in a small-ish, VERY CONSERVATIVE town in northern Arizona. I love it here, too.
What I’ve learned? City folk have an AWFULLY easy time dismissing rural areas as uneducated podunk sh*tholes that don’t count. They don’t leave their urban bubbles to explore the heartland that RUNS America. And they don’t care to. Why would they? We don’t even have a Soul Cycle here.
Hence, this attitude:
Sometimes I think about America’s sedentary, heart-diseased, fast-food gobbling, car-addicted suburbanites, sitting watching TV in their suburban castles, casually passing judgment on refugees who have walked 1000s of miles to escape oppression, and … well, it makes me mad.

WOOF. Hahahaha this guy can’t even think past the suburbs. He’s THAT stuck.
Laura Ingraham has a little something to say:
Oh, sorry, let’s leave the decisions to the the urban warriors who spend their days riding scooters, checking Tinder, wearing flip-flops, and agonizing about which cold-pressed juice to order. https://t.co/bsMkGIFYnG

YAASSS.
This is is awkwardly accurate.
I KNOW THESE PEOPLE.
And then there are imbeciles like this:
I work hard, pay taxes etc..and I’m not in fear of the caravan. They aren’t coming to take my job. Anyone coming in a caravan to take my job is not going to be walking 2,000 miles in sweltering heat. They would be on a plane drinking champagne in first class.

Oh, honey. You just don’t get it, do you?
So you’re bragging about your champagne-on-first-class job, and that’s supposed to get working class America to think you have your head stuffed anywhere but 3 feet up your A$$?!
AMERICANS AREN’T ALL CHAMPAGNE-ON-FIRST-CLASS-WORKERS. And those who AREN’T, do in fact worry about illegal immigration affecting their livelihood.
I remember when my dad, white middle class heavy equipment operator who served in the Navy, could earn $30/hr in 1977, but couldn’t earn $10/hr in 2007 because cheaper immigrant labor had replaced him.

Bingo.
