Kanye Briefly Explains What He Meant By Saying He’s ‘Been Used’

Kanye West surprised everyone last night after distancing himself from the Blexit campaign.

I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.

We had so many questions. Is he distancing himself from the Blexit campaign specifically or Trump entirely? What is it? If he suddenly decided to distance himself from Trump– ESPECIALLY after meeting with him in the Oval Office and giving him a hug– that would be all sorts of messed up.

Well, (kinda) good news. He briefly clarified his remark to TMZ, telling them that he was only referring to “Blexit.” Not Trump.

4:15 PM PT — Kanye contacted us to make it clear he did not mention Donald Trump in his tweets, and he’s getting out of politics altogether.

As for being “used” … he says he was specifically referencing Blexit, and that’s it.

I’m not surprised. Kanye isn’t a principled conservative, so I can see why he wouldn’t want his name attached to a movement all about black people exiting a certain party. Kanye’s initial message was more “Think however you want. Just don’t think you have to think the way other people TELL you to think.”

But yeah. Kanye is not a conservative. He never has been, so this isn’t shocking. I’m just glad to hear that he didn’t suddenly decide that he hates Trump. THAT would’ve been stupid.
