Am I supposed to be bummed about this? ‘Cause I’m not.
Rihanna, who hasn’t been relevant since singing “Umbrella” a gazillion years ago (in my opinion), rejected an invitation to sing at the Super Bowl. Why? Because she’s standing kneeling in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. She disagrees with the NFL’s policy on kneeling during the national anthem, even though the NFL was too chicken to actually implement any sort of solid policy.
“The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta,” an insider said, according to US Weekly. “They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”
What the heck ever. I think she’d be a drag anyway.
For those who don’t know, Maroon 5 is expected to perform, and I’m cool with because some of their songs are goooooooood. They also say Cardi B will likely be the special guest, which is a bummer because she’s a perpetual hot mess.
“She is definitely being considered, but it’s obviously way too early to say for sure,” one insider revealed. Another source said, “Pepsi, the NFL and Cardi are all interested in her performing more than just her ‘Girls Like You’ verse.”
I don’t really care who performs. As long as the Pats are in the Super Bowl. 😛 Please wait until I exit the stage to throw the moldy fruit. This is a new shirt. 😉
