Who’s Leading The Polls For The Democratic Party’s Potential 2020 Candidates?

2020 is WAAAAAAAAAY out there right now, and no Democrat has OFFICIALLY jumped into the ring yet, but we have some ideas of who may run. Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, the Creepy Porn Lawyer, Cory Booker, etc.

CNN decided to conduct a poll with some hypothetical candidates, and it’s pretty entertaining to look at. Come on, it’s just for funsies!

The first @CNN numbers for 2020 Democratic presidential nomination just released this morning:

My favorite part of this poll? Michael Avenatti is sitting at 1%. But LISTEN. He poses a SERIOUS threat!

Bernie Sanders — like in 2016 — performs way better with Democratic-leaning independents (21% support, trailing Biden by 10 points) than Democrats (9% support, trailing Biden by 25 points and falling to third)

Younger voters are less in line behind Biden: Four in 10 (39%) potential Dem primary-ers over 45 years old support Biden vs. a quarter (26%) under 45 years old. Under 45 list continues: Sanders 21%, Harris 13%, Warren 11%.

It's also worth noting at this point in 2014, Hillary Clinton had 65% support in the Democratic primary – double where Biden clocks in (33%) in new @CNN poll. It's clear Biden is the front-runner at this moment, but not to the extent Clinton was.

So as of right now, according to this CNN poll, Biden is the clear frontrunner.

We’ll just have to wait and see who throws their hat into the ring.
