September 10, 2018Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis of Florida has officially announced his resignation from Congress to focus on running for Governor of Florida.
In a classy move, DeSantis requested that his resignation be retroactive so that he would not get paid for the month of September.

“It has been an honor to serve the people of Florida’s Sixth Congressional District,” he tweeted.
As the Republican nominee for Governor of Florida, it is clear to me that I will likely miss the vast majority of our remaining session days for this Congress. Under these circumstances, it would be inappropriate for me to accept a salary. In order to honor my principles and protect the taxpayer, I officially resign from the House of Representatives effective immediately.”
Yes – Good. The people of Florida deserve adequate representation – and he should focus 100% on his race.
As you know, DeSantis has already been hit HARD by liberals trying to find anything to sink him with.
His most recent “Controversy” involved people FLIPPING THEIR LID about his using a pretty common phrase. You know – because of RACISM.
DeSantis and Gillum are currently neck and neck in the polls – so he’s absolutely doing the right thing.
