This is my legitimate nightmare.
A plane is currently in quarantine at JFK Airport due to the fact that “dozens” of passengers are feeling ill. We’re talking specifically about an Emirates flight coming from Dubai. At least three people have been taken to the hospital, but initial reports indicated that up to 100 others were feeling ill (fevers and coughing).
The flight landed at JFK Wednesday morning about 9:10 a.m. where Port Authority Police and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were waiting in a staging area to check passengers. The mayor’s office confirmed on Twitter that a plane had landed at JFK with sickened passengers, saying the aircraft had been quarantined.
Chopper 4 was over the scene where about seven ambulances were lined up, as well as at dozens of other emergency response units including police and Homeland Security. At about 10 a.m. a handful of crew members were seen being escorted from the plane.
This is seriously my nightmare.

Latest: #UAE’s Emirates flight #EK203 has been quarantined at New York’s JFK Airport.
• Around 100 passengers on board are reported ‘feeling sick’ allegedly as a result of the onboard catering.

Update: According to a member of the Emirates flight crew communicating with air traffic control: “The affected passengers are coughing and have fevers over 100°F (37.7°C)” #EK203

It’s worth highlighting that the captain of an airline jet is responsible for ensuring that, wherever possible, the pilots eat different inflight meals.
(While aviation bodies do not enforce official rules, most airlines do likewise).

I’ve just spoken with a passenger on the Main Deck of the #Emirates A380 currently quarantined at New York’s JFK airport.
Quote: “Crew told us a bunch of people are sick, but we have not seen any evidence of that”#EK203

Update: Here’s more. Oddly, they shrunk the number from 100 passengers to 10. How does that happen?
Statement: Emirates can confirm that about 10 passengers on #EK203 from Dubai to New York were taken ill. On arrival, as a precaution, they were attended to by local health authorities. All others will disembark shortly. The safety & care of our customers is our first priority.
