It took over an hour for Brett Kavanaugh’s hearing to actually start, because obstructionist Democrats had to put on a little show for the insane feminist idiots screaming in the back of the room. You can catch up on all of that here and here.
For those wondering, Sen. Blumenthal is STILL begging the hearing to be adjourned. I just watched him ask again live.
Ted Cruz eventually got the chance to deliver his opening statement, and it was the real deal. He said the Democrats’ little charade was just that– nothing more than a way to “distract and delay” from important things.
“They are making a demand that they know is impossible to meet,” he said.
He also echoed what Grassley said, noting that they already have more documents on Kavanaugh than “any other nominee.” As Cruz noted, the documents in question “reveal more about Cabinet members’ opinions than Kavanaugh’s.”
For them to act like they’re going into this blind? Totally disingenuous.
“If it’s not about his judicial record, what is this fight about?” Cruz said. “I believe this fight is nothing more and nothing less than an attempt by our Democratic colleagues to relitigate the 2016 presidential election.”
.@SenTedCruz: “Most Americans, and I know the overwhelming majority of Texans, want judges who will follow the law and will not impose their policy preferences on the rest of us, and who will be faithful to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.” https://t.co/ffhxc4dqFa pic.twitter.com/3O8KksFPmj

Ted Cruz’s opening statement, puncturing Democrats’ complaints about documents, is really excellent.
