We’re Onto You, Ashley Judd. But Nice Try. (Warning: MAJOR CATTINESS IN THIS POST.)

As those of you who’ve been long time followers are aware, I loathe Ashley Judd with the fury of a billion suns.  There are a whole host of reasons, and if you’re really interested, just do a search of her name right here on this very site, and you’ll find about forty five thousand posts explaining some of them.

Her politics are obviously like the photo negative of mine, but that’s not why she’s on my nerves today.  Today?  It’s because of a completely catty reason that one of my friends and fellow Ashley-loathers pointed out to me.

So if you’re not down to be catty with me for a moment, and your plan is to read this in its entirety and then act all morally superior to me by commenting how catty it is, just stop reading this right now and go away.  I KNOW it’s catty.  I don’t need to be told that.  Sometimes, a girl’s just got to cat.  That time is now, and that girl is me.

As I scrolled through my IG feed today, I saw that Ashley had posted this today:

Now, if you can’t see the embedded photo, here’s a screenshot:

See that caption? “Happy Weekend! #laborday #labordayweekend #riversurfing”

From that caption, seeing as how it’s Labor Day Weekend, you’d probably assume that Ashley Judd is currently riversurfing, enjoying her holiday weekend, and sharing her experience of river surfing this weekend with her followers.  That’d be a reasonable assumption.

When I saw that pic, I thought to myself, “Huh. That looks oddly familiar.”

And then I promptly forgot all about it and went on with my day.

Fast forward to just a bit ago, when my fellow Ashley-loathing friend wrote to me and said, “Did you check out Ashley Judd’s instagram? She posted a photo of herself supposedly river surfing on Labor Day. Except I think this photo is from about 5 years ago in Tennessee, she posted it on twitter.”

And then a few minutes later:

“Found it. Exactly 5 years ago, same exact photo. So she’s posting a 5 year old photo and pretending that it’s from this weekend.”

Listen – I have nothing against throwback photos. For instance, I posted an 8 year old photo of myself in a UGA jersey just yesterday on my IG, since it was the first day of college football season. And you know what my caption was? “It’s #collegefootball time! This is an eight year old pic of me showing support for (my husband’s) beloved #georgiabulldogs. I’ve become a fan of them too over the years! #godawgs #gameday #woofwoofwoof”

I wasn’t about to try to pass off an 8 year old photo as one that I’d taken this weekend.  You know why? Because that’s the kind of thing Ashley Judd does.

Anyway, she’ll probably see this post (her followers always make sure of that), and change her caption or add a comment somewhere that clarifies that this is a throwback photo after the fact. She’s got a history of that, you see.  But I’m onto you, Ashley.
