This is really freaking awkward, folks…
Shortly after Senator McCain’s funeral, The New York Post ran a cover comparing his daughter Meghan to a 100-ton prehistoric predator.
“The Meg” …short for Megalodon, is the topic of a new Hollywood film… and apparently the Posts’ new nickname for McCain:

Yiiiiiikes.
Nope, nope, nope… I HATE THIS.
Dial it back, folks.
Here’s the movie they’re referring to:
I get it… Meghan lashed out at Trump during her father’s memorial… but I believe she’s grief-stricken and angry. I in no way want to slam her BACK.
I said the EXACT same thing when I wrote about a REVOLTING attack on her. (Which was far, FAR worse than this.)
I keep seeing people mock and jab at Meghan right now… and I’m not a fan of it. Regardless of politics, Meghan just lost her father.
You know what that makes ME think of? How much I love my dad. How DEVASTATED I would be if I lost him. Meghan’s pain is palpable. She is in so, so much pain. So… why don’t we just lay off, you know?
I don’t mean don’t REPORT on her digs at Trump. I don’t mean completely IGNORE what she says… I haven’t done either. I wrote about her digs.
I just mean be HUMAN for a moment… and show a bit of empathy.
I’ve said this exact thing a number of times, and I’ll say it again… because it’s still worth saying:
Someone’s going to say “fight fire with fire!” because inevitably, someone always does. Saying crap like that on some comment on some website isn’t “fighting fire with fire.” As big and brave as you want to pretend you are, you’re not “fighting” anything by posting nasty comments on the internet. Don’t kid yourself. You’re just letting the world know you’re an a-hole with no sense of decency. So whatever… keep on fighting, keyboard warrior.
Meghan is hurting. Meghan lost her dad. I take no joy in kicking her while she’s down.
