The liberal media DESPISED John McCain when he was running for president.
He was a RACIST. He was a MISOGYNIST.
Now? He’s an “American hero” and a “lion of a man.”
What prompted this seismic shift?
McCain’s dislike of President Trump.
The media has once again proven that nothing makes friends quite like shared enemies… and Tucker rips them to SHREDS for it.
“Senator John McCain, who passed away this weekend at the age of 81, was a man of florid passions. He loved what he loved and he hated what he hated,” he begins.
“High atop his dislike list was Donald Trump. McCain despised Trump. Trump, for his part, despised McCain right back, and to their credit, neither man ever pretended otherwise. McCain attacked Trump almost until his final day. After McCain died Trump at first could barely bring himself to mourn.”
Which, of course, the media IMMEDIATELY pounced on.
Tucker first plays a clip of CNN’s Brooke Baldwin slapping at Trump for “not saying anything, about this hero, this lion of a man.” Trump’s reaction was “despicable.”
Katy Turr then goes on a similar rant: “The President refused to say anything about a war hero, despite being asked today, again, again, and again.”
Trump was ALSO criticised for FOLLOWING PROTOCOL and raising White House flags after 48 hours. He later had them re-lowered after the OUTRAGE STORM that came his way.
Here’s MY question… is there ANYTHING Trump could have done in this situation that the liberal media would have praised him for?
If he would have IMMEDIATELY put out a statement about this “American Hero” …would the media not then focus on their anything-but-friendly relationship and call him a hypocrite and a liar?
Tucker then calls out the BLATANT hypocrisy of it all:
“On one level it’s amusing because these are the very same people of course who called John McCain a racist ten years ago for daring to run against the anointed one.”
“A month before that election in 2008, Congressman John Lewis compared John McCain to George Wallace and then try to connect him to the 1963 Birmingham church bombings if, you can imagine.”
Yes – REALLY.
“Fast forward to this weekend. Lewis described McCain, probably the most hawkish center in American history, as quote ‘a warrior for peace. He will be deeply missed by people all around the world.’ In other words, never mind the racist stuff, it was never personal.”
If this doesn’t PERFECTLY illustrate how FAKE this all is… I don’t know what will.
“For the left, everything is about political expedience, even the obituaries,” he says.
…and here’s what’s incredibly troubling about it:
“More troubling, though, more interesting too, is the claim you just heard that it’s ‘despicable’ not to mourn Senator McCain in a certain way. Not just impolite, but immoral and forbidden.”
“When people in authority, people with TV shows, for example, decide that they can dictate what emotions you’re allowed to feel, you should worry. McCain knew that well. He spent five and a half years as a captive in a society just like that and he spent the rest of his life fighting against it. He hated authoritarians above all. John McCain was a complicated person but a great man. If you really want to honor his memory, you ought to let people make up their own minds about what they think.”
