It’s official. Michael Cohen pleaded guilty. He admitted to violating federal campaign finance laws and blamed it on Donald Trump. That’s right. He said he did it under Trump’s direction.
Cohen is straight up suggesting that Trump directed him to commit a crime.
In entering the plea, Cohen did not specifically name the two women or even Trump, recounting instead that he worked with an “unnamed candidate.” But the amounts and the dates all lined up with the payments made to Daniels and McDougal.
In total, Cohen pleaded guilty to five counts of tax evasion, one count of making false statements to a financial institution, one count of willfully causing an unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of making an excessive campaign contribution.
Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani has responded:
“There is no allegation of any wrongdoing against the President in the government’s charges against Mr. Cohen. It is clear that, as the prosecutor noted, Mr. Cohen’s actions reflect a pattern of lies and dishonesty over a significant period of time,” he said.
Still. Everyone is flipping out. Avenatti is declaring victory.
We. Are. Coming. We are going to end this dumpster fire of a presidency one way or another. https://t.co/URJXR0aehx

1) Trump’s personal lawyer testified under oath that Trump coordinated to commit a federal crime.
2) Trump will be subpoenaed. That is his worst legal nightmare.
So yeah, Michael Cohen. All the best people.— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) August 21, 2018
Cohen will be sentenced December 12.
This is far from over. Buckle up, folks.
