August 7, 2018I’ve told you guys before that I’m a sucker for certain trashy TV shows. “The Bachelorette” and “The Bachelor” are two of those shows. Last night was the season finale of “The Bachelorette.” It was pretty anticlimactic. I follow a dude who gives the best spoilers, so I had a hunch who won, although I’d like to say I knew BEFORE the official spoiler. I knew when the Instagram drama went down a few months ago.
Remember? I wrote about it before. At the time, my headline was “‘The Bachelorette’ Contestant Under Fire For Liking Right-Wing Posts On Instagram.”
Long story short, one of the contestants (who happened to be the winner– Garrett Yrigoyen) was under fire for double tapping on a series of what others consider to be “offensive” memes on Instagram. They’re honestly not much different than what we post to the COTR Instagram page (minus the crisis actor post. We wouldn’t post that, ’cause it’s just dumb).
Here are some of the “controversial” posts he liked.

That last one aside…whatever. Most of those memes are true. Feminists are gross. California’s sanctuary state laws are INSANE. “Feminizing” boys is dumb and “identifying” as whatever you want is also dumb.ALL TRUE.
Garrett got a TON of backlash for that and ultimately cleared his IG, started over and issued an apology.
I thought it was weird that a random contestant would try to address the issue so strongly, which kinda sorta told me that he was probably the winner and didn’t want the backlash in the end.
It didn’t end there. Like I said, the finale was last night, and he won. He was actually my favorite throughout the series. He seemed really sweet and outdoorsy and whatnot.
However, people were lighting up Twitter to whine about Becca picking a flaming “bigot.” Also, he’s a Nazi in private, obviously.
Garrett, the solution isn’t to stop publicly liking offensive memes and instead to be a Nazi in private. The solution is actually to admit that your views and what caused you to agree with those sentiments are super fucked up and could take years to fix. #TheBacheloretteFinale

It’s so freaking ridiculous. They’re acting like he did something WRONG and unforgivable. HE HAD AN OPINION AND LAUGHED AT STUPID MEMES. But apparently, what he “liked” was against “what she stood for,” to which I say TOO DAMN BAD. Maybe you should’ve talked about her political principles ( or lack thereof– open borders and abortion on demand, probably) BEFORE GETTING ENGAGED. Please remove your testicles from her purse.

As you can see, that apology wasn’t good enough for most people, because he didn’t explicitly apologize for HAVING A DIFFERENT OPINION. He’s supposed to think EXACTLY LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Open borders! Embrace the cultural rot! Girly boys are AWESOME. THINK LIKE US AND BE LIKE US OR ELSE.
And they call us fascists? LOL.
Good to know that right-leaning individuals aren’t allowed to, you know, have their own thoughts and opinions without being lambasted on national TV.
I’m not saying I feel bad for him. Anyone who goes on those shows– no matter how nice they seem– have SOMETHING slightly wrong with them. They HAVE to. I’m just amazed by the lack of tolerance from the left. They’re hating on Garrett for having a different opinion and slapping inaccurate labels on him because they’re incapable of IMAGINING that someone might disagree with their crappy world view for a legitimate reason.
They want to police your thoughts. They’re exactly who they claim to hate.
