Madonna Hints That She Moved To Portugal To Escape Donald Trump

Right before the presidential election, a bunch of celebrities threatened to move in the extremely unlikely even that Trump beat Hillary Clinton, thereby becoming the next President of the United States.

It should come to no surprise that the majority of those who threatened to leave haven’t yet, but take heart! One of those horrific celebs seems to be making good on her promise…kind of. Madonna!

She hinted to Italian Vogue that she relocated to Lisbon, Portugal because she had to get away from Trump. She needed to “get out of America for a minute.” “This is not America’s finest hour,” according to Madonna.

She also said she relocated to help her son’s soccer career.

“I’ve been desperate to get him into the best academies with the best coaches, but the level of football in America is much lower than the rest of the world,” Madonna said. “I saw his frustration, and I also felt it was a good time.”

Can I just say that I HATE how the rest of the world calls soccer “football”? ANNOYING.
