Report: President Trump Has Narrowed SCOTUS Choice To Final Three

We’re getting close, folks.

With the Trump’s self-imposed July 9th deadline quickly approaching, he has narrowed his SCOTUS picks down to three.

According to BPR:

President Donald Trump has narrowed down his list of potential Supreme Court nominations to three candidates.

With four days remaining until Trump makes an expected selection announcement, his choice to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy is down to three federal appeals judges: Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh and Raymond Kethledge, reported The Associated Press.

Sounds good to me.

President Trump JUST finished interviewing them all as of this morning:

The candidate interview process has been complete as of Thursday morning, according to Fox News. Trump has personally interviewed at least six of the his list’s 25 individuals, speaking to one of the candidates twice.

Fox New’s John Roberts tweeted of the short-list. Kethledge of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit are the apparent front-runners.

I was personally rooting for Amy Coney Barrett. The left has been particularly ruthless about her… going so far as to attack her Catholicism, and in writing posts about those attacks I’ve had a chance to learn quite a bit about her. I think she would be an EXCELLENT choice.

But she’s not thought to be the front-runner:

Since Kennedy’s retirement was first announced, Kavanaugh has been considered the most likely choice. However, there has also been an anti-Kavanaugh campaign among some conservatives stemming from concerns regarding his record and ties with former President George W. Bush.

Time will tell.
