9 People Stabbed In Idaho, Here’s What We Know

But…but…I thought evil people only used guns?

According to this, 9 people have been stabbed at an apartment complex in Idaho. Six of the victims were kids.

Nine people have been hospitalized following a stabbing attack at an apartment complex where refugee families live in Boise, Idaho, according to the Boise Police Department. Six of the victims are children.

“We haven’t had anything involving this amount of victims in a single attack in Boise in the history of the department,” Boise Police Chief William Bones told reporters following the Saturday evening attack.

The Boise Police Department said four of the victims are being treated for life-threatening injuries. The people injured include members of the refugee community.

Kinner is being questioned by authorities. He has been booked into jail on nine counts of aggravated battery and six counts of injury to a child.

The suspect was arrested and has been identified as 30-year-old Timmy Kinner of Los Angeles, Calif.

In a statement, police said that, “Preliminary evidence shows the suspect was a temporary resident at the apartment complex on Wylie Ln and State St. until he was asked to leave on Friday.”

His precise motive is unclear. This attack is “not a symbol or a representation of our community in Boise, but it’s a single evil individual who attacked people with no provocation that we are aware of,” Bones said.

8:46 pm Boise Police responded to a man with a knife. Officers arrived by 8:50 pm and located the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect is a 30-year-old male.

Officers located 9 victims. Victims include members of the refugee community. Officers are still investigating why the suspect targeted these individuals.

The suspect is in custody and being interviewed at this time. Victim Witness Coordinators and counselors are working with the victims and witnesses to provide them services in the days and weeks ahead.

Here’s the latest update from the police department:

Arrested: Timmy Kinner, 30, Los Angeles, CA

Charges: Aggravated Battery (F) – 9 Counts, Injury to Child (F) – 6 counts

Suspect, Timmy Kinner, was booked into the Ada County Jail last night on nine counts of Aggravated Battery and six counts of Injury to Child. Out of the nine victims, there are six children who were injured in the attack. At this time there have been no changes in the victim’s conditions. As previously stated, four of the victims received life-threatening injuries.

The Boise Police investigation is ongoing. Preliminary evidence shows the suspect was a temporary resident at the apartment complex on Wylie Ln and State St. until he was asked to leave on Friday. The suspect, Timmy Kinner, is not a refugee. The suspect’s exact motives and reasons for attacking specific individuals is still under investigation.
