You Have To Read This Comment About Trump Lying.

A friend of ours posted this on his own Facebook wall (publicly) the other day, and it’s so good I asked him if I could share it here. It’s about Trump and the accusations he gets on a daily basis that he lies.

Let’s accept for a minute that Trump’s a serial liar.

I’m not aware of many politicians who aren’t desperate to deceive, inveigle, and obfuscate. Throw a stick in DC and you’re bound to hit liar after liar.
If we assume lying as a political constant, why, then, are Trump’s lies more significant if the country’s thriving under his leadership? Employment’s up. Black unemployment has plummeted. Household income is up. American prestige is returning. ISIS is on the run. Are his lies somehow worse lies?

Eight years of Obama lies didn’t get us this kind of success. Two years of alleged Trump lies have.

Can someone explain the practical difference here?

In my opinion there’s not one. The only real difference is that one set of lies have been told by someone who unashamedly loves America and prioritizes American citizens and prestige above competing interests. That’s the difference, and it’s the difference the left can’t stand.

All of that said, I don’t accept that he’s a serial liar. I think he does lie. I think he also uses hyperbole. Neither of those are remarkable. What is remarkable, however, is that the same media that gushed at Obama’s stopping the seas from rising speech can, with a straight face, call out Trump for using obvious hyperbole.

I loved this, because it’s such a great explanation of why Trump’s popularity continues to rise, in spite of the scandals, the tone-deaf tweets, and yes, even the lies. It’s like what Daisy and I talk about on our show all the time when there’s another Stormy story, or another absurd tweet from the President. We’ll break down the story, let our audience know what’s up, and then one of us will invariably say, “You know what? I DON’T CARE. As long as Trump keeps getting sh*t done, the latest hullabaloo simply doesn’t matter.”

And that’s the way it is for a lot of Americans. People are acting like Trump is the first president in history to lie, or to misspeak, or to cheat on his wife, or to have an ego, or to play politics. Give me a break. Trump is the 44th/45th president (depending on your definition) to have baggage, y’all. It’s just that now we live in a 24 hour news cycle, where we’re constantly told by a politically-motivated liberal media that Trump is Satan.

But the results are there. They continue to pile up. And no matter how much hate the Left throws his way, Trump continues to get sh*t done.

So yeah. I don’t like a lot of his tweets. I wish he were a better man. But as a president? He’s doing precisely what I want him to do.
