On Tuesday, Facebook users noticed a “weird” question on posts in their feeds. Take a look.
I just had a flashback to Zuckerberg telling lawmakers that they’re working on AI that will be able to stop “hate speech” before it goes out.
The problem here? Everyone has different definitions of “hate speech.” I say abortion is murder. Pro-choicers say that’s “hate speech.” I say there are only two genders. LGBT activists say that’s “hateful rhetoric.”
Surely, you see the problem here.
Facebook asking this question…it’s STUPID. Liberals tend to label ALL speech they don’t like as hate speech. What do you think is going to happen when they see a conservative post pop up in their feed? OF COURSE they’re going to say the posts contain “hate speech.” And then Facebook will be all, “See? People say these conservative posts contain hate speech, and THAT’S why we’re taking them out of your feed! We didn’t decide this. The people did!”
You know that’s where this is going.
Facebook is trying to pass it off as a “glitch.” Yes, really.
“This was an internal test we were working on to understand different types of speech, including speech we thought would not be hate,” a Facebook representative told Business Insider. “A bug caused it to launch publicly. It’s been disabled.”
Ya hear that? They’re trying to “understand different types of speech.” Isn’t that nice of them?
But for real. This is such BS. Look.
Facebook — an industry leader in Artificial Intelligence who thinks that AI is going to solve all of its problems — is asking me if this post contains hate speech pic.twitter.com/4MqrGw8PFj

Hey @facebook, I just clicked "YES" on an NBC news video about the Catholic Church containing hate speech.
It then gave me these options:1. Hate Speech
2. Test P1
3. Test P2
4. Test P3Maybe please stop being terrible & so, so stupid. pic.twitter.com/pQ1lyVr3FW
