A “caravan” of migrants from Central America (mainly from Honduras, but also including El Salvador and Guatemala) are marching together to the US border. They’re fleeing their impoverished, politically corrupt, crime-ridden– dare I call them sh*thole– countries. As they march, the crowd grows bigger. Word has it they have over 1,500 families participating.

Asylum or Invasion Organized and Lead by PEOPLE WITHOUT BORDERS
Caravan of Migrants heading to the US right now!!RT

The journey began on Sunday March 25 when 1,200 men, women and children gathered together to cross immigration checkpoints with a organization called Pueblos Sin Fronteras, meaning People Without Borders, according to BuzzFeed News.
And the number is only growing as migrants walk to the border in 90-degree heat, sleep on the floor of town plazas, and get by on charity meals by locals and churches.
I feel for them. I really do. If I didn’t live in America, I’d want to live in America. However, it’s completely inappropriate for these people to think they can march to the border, overwhelm border patrol agents, DEMAND to come into our country or worse, enter illegally. Civilized societies have borders.
These people are breaking into chants, shouting “we aren’t immigrants, we’re international workers” and “the people united will never be defeated.”
Um…you’re most definitely immigrants, which is FINE. We’re simply asking that you come here the right way. I just can’t deal with the entitlement mentality. Don’t act like we OWE you. There are people coming here the correct way, and this isn’t fair to them. Not to mention that this is isn’t fair to the American people. Who would foot the bill for these impoverished migrants? We would. Most of these people are already showing their entitlement mentality– acting like we owe them a seamless entry. What makes you think they’ll drop that attitude once they get here?
According to the BuzzFeed reporter following the march, most of these people will try to enter the United States illegally or ask for asylum.
Organizers estimate that about two-thirds of people are planing on crossing into the United States undetected or asking for some type of protection like asylum.
Twenty-nine-year-old Mateo Juan said the caravan was his third attempt at getting to the United States. Seven months ago, Mexican immigration officers pulled him off the bus. The same happened about a month ago.
He heard about the caravan in March when he arrived in Tapachula, the caravan’s starting point.
“Going alone is risky. You’re risking an accident, getting jumped by robbers, and even your life,” he told BuzzFeed News. “All of that, and then you don’t get to the United States. The caravan is slower but you know you’re going to get there safely.”
Still, there are no guarantees on the route or assurances that once they reach the US border they’ll be able to cross undetected or be allowed to stay under some type of protection like asylum.
Here are some pictures:
Undoubtedly, the countries these people are fleeing are terrible. America has always been a compassionate nation, but we’re also a nation of laws. It’s NOT OK for these people to think that they’re going to sneak over the border and enter our country illegally. NO. They don’t get to make us look like the bad guys when we tell them that’s not how this works.
We’re a sovereign country, and we have order. Entering our country illegally is simply not the answer.
What do you think? How do we handle situations like this? (I should note– Mexico certainly isn’t doing anything to stop them.)
We’re not against immigrants or immigration. We’re against ILLEGAL, UNLAWFUL immigration. Yes liberals. There’s a difference.
