Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens Thinks We Should Repeal The Second Amendment

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard liberals say, “Would you calm down? No one wants to take your guns away!”

Yeah well, that’s not true. Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens does. I repeat, this dude was a SUPREME COURT JUSTICE. (He’s 97 and obviously senile, so just keep that in mind.)

Stevens wrote about the March For Our Lives protests in an op-ed for the New York Times and basically said they PROVE that Americans want to dismantle the Second Amendment. He said the protests “reveal the broad public support for legislation to minimize the risk of mass killings of schoolchildren and others in our society.”

His version of legislation = trampling all over the Constitution and repealing the Second Amendment.

He said the support “is a clear sign to lawmakers to enact legislation prohibiting civilian ownership of semiautomatic weapons, increasing the minimum age to buy a gun from 18 to 21 years old, and establishing more comprehensive background checks on all purchasers of firearms.”

I’ve actually heard a lot of liberals say that. They have no idea what a semi-automatic weapon is or how it functions. That’s why they feel fine saying, “I don’t want to take your guns away” and “We need to ban all semi-automatic weapons” in the same conversation. They don’t realize that virtually every gun out there is a semi-automatic gun.

So yes. They do want to take your guns away. In fact, Stevens said we should DEMAND the repeal of the Second Amendment altogether.

But Stevens called on demonstrators to “seek more effective and more lasting reform.”

“They should demand a repeal of the Second Amendment,” he wrote.

He’s saying this loudly and proudly.

The wonderful thing is, this has virtually no chance of happening thanks to the GENIUS of our founders and yes, the Second Amendment itself. The Second Amendment is self-preserving. Think it through. Do the math.

Repealing the amendment would be extremely difficult. An amendment to the Constitution can only be proposed either by Congress with a two thirds vote in both houses or by a constitutional convention called for by two thirds of the state legislatures. The amendment then has to be approved by three quarters of the states.

It’s still absolutely APPALLING that a former Supreme Court Justice is floating that idea. Isn’t this the same man who once swore to support and defend the Constitution?

Most liberals hate the Constitution, and they’re now feeling gutsy enough to admit it.

The NRA released a statement in response to Stevens’ unconstitutional drivel.

“The men and women of the National Rifle Association, along with the majority of the American people and the Supreme Court, believe in the Second Amendment right to self-protection and we will unapologetically continue to fight to protect this fundamental freedom,” the statement said.

YES. That’s why I’m a member. The Second Amendment is under attack, and we’ll continue to defend it.

I’d like to thank Justice Stevens for reminding us that when gun control advocates assure us that they don’t want to “repeal the Second Amendment,” they’re lying.

Yep. They totally are. I don’t trust ’em for a minute. They’re actually BEGGING for the government to take their rights away. I can’t believe I share a country with those idiots.
