Well, United. Looks like you aren’t alone in completely SUCKING.
Delta is currently under fire for sending a puppy to the wrong city…multiple times. Here’s what happened. A dude from Idaho purchased a puppy from a breeder in Virginia. The puppy was supposed to land in Boise with nothing more than ONE stopover in Minneapolis.
That didn’t happen. An employee from Delta called and delivered a really sketchy message.
Josh Schlaich says the caller said, “Hey, just wanted to let you know the dog’s flight has been delayed, and the dog is going to stay the night here. They said, ‘Here’s the number of a person who’s going to take care of it. His name is Chris. You need to call them if you want any more information. Thanks, bye.’”
Um– WHAT? If I purchased a puppy and an airline employee called and was all “Uh yeah. Your pup isn’t coming today, but he’s in good hands. Some random dude named Chris is taking care of him. Bye,” I would be LIVID.
Schlaich says the number was disconnected and when he tried to call Delta he was hung up on several times. He finally got a response after contacting the airline through its Facebook page.
He was told the dog would arrive on Sunday afternoon. The dog finally arrived Sunday evening but was safe and in good health.
The puppy didn’t get home before landing in THREE OTHER CITIES– Detroit, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City.
Delta apologized and issued a refund saying in a statement: “We know pets are important members of the family and apologize for the delayed shipment of a dog, which is now in the hands of its owner, after it was routed to the wrong destination.”

Delta says it has “initiated an immediate review.”
“We know pets are important members of the family and apologize for the delayed shipment of a dog, which is in the hands of its owner, after it was routed through incorrect connecting points on its way to Boise,” Delta told Business Insider. “We have fully refunded the shipping costs and have initiated an immediate review procedure to understand what happened.”
Buy a local dog, and don’t ever put your dog on an airplane. That should eliminate a lot of these “mishaps.”
