I come from a pretty conservative household. My parents weren’t overtly political, but we always abided by those traditional family values and common sense concepts. I was disciplined and taught the importance of respect, personal responsibility and keeping my word. My parents were conservatives, but I don’t really remember them talking politics every single day. I suppose it was a different time then. Social media was virtually non-existent, and the world wasn’t decaying at the rate it is today.
I really started to realize my subtle conservative upbringing in college. I remember my professors saying things that just didn’t make sense. I noticed professors slamming things like the Second Amendment in classes that weren’t even political. It bothered me. I knew I disagreed with them. I knew they were wrong, but I wasn’t good at articulating why. I got a fire and was determined to prove them wrong. I bought books, did research and had long conversations with my parents about what THEY believed and why.
Liberal indoctrination had the opposite effect on me. Did I lose friends? None that truly mattered. The ones who mattered stuck around. Did I make friends in college? Different story. Short answer: NO. And it’s all because I’m a conservative.
So yeah. I was never cut off by my family, but I’ve experienced the intolerance in other ways. I used to be SO EXCITED about having school pride and wearing my college gear after I graduated. But nope. I don’t do that, because my school basically disowned me. Even the people who were kind turned on me in the end.
ANYWAY. That brings me to PJW’s latest. It’s so so so so so great.
He’s totally right. Members of MSM are largely responsible for this. They happily feed this divide by spreading blatant lies on a near daily basis. It’s absolutely sickening.
If you actually feel the need to disown your friends and family because they don’t agree with you, slap your pathetic self in the face. It’s shameful. What are you teaching YOUR kids? So much for tolerance.
Liberals continue to be everything they claim to hate, and they don’t even realize it.
