Last month, Joy Behar and her intolerant, cackling friends on “The View” mocked Vice President Mike Pence for his Christian faith.
“I think what’s interesting is that she said Jesus tells Mike Pence things to say,” Sunny Hostin said.
“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you,” Behar chimed in.
She then likened a Christian praying and hearing from God to someone suffering from mental illness.
“As a Christian, that’s just par for the course,” Sherri Shepherd said. “You talk to Jesus, Jesus talks back. What concerns me is, how long is the conversation with Jesus?”
That really struck a nerve with me. There may have been ranting. You can read it here.
Pence responded with nothing but class.
“It demonstrates how out of touch some in the Mainstream Media are with the faith and values of the American people that you could have a major network like ABC permit a forum for invective against religion like that,” he said.
Joy eventually backtracked.
“I think Mike Pence, say what you want about him and his religiosity,” she said. “I don’t think he’s mentally ill. Even though he is saying he hears voices I don’t think he’s that crazy.”
But get this: Word has it she apologized to Pence on the phone.
Disney CEO Bob Iger said during the Q&A portion of a shareholder meeting on Thursday that Behar apologized directly to Pence on the phone.
The shareholder who asked the question was Justin Danhof, who is the general counsel for the National Center for Public Policy Research. Danhof told Iger that some of Disney’s recent decisions are “strange when trust in media is at an all-time low” and referred to Disney’s ESPN as a “24/7 anti-Trump tirade channel” before bringing up the Behar controversy.
“What do you say to the tens of millions of Christians, and President Trump supporters, that your networks have so blatantly offended and ascribed hateful labels?” Danhof asked. “Specifically, do you think, like Mrs. Hostin and Mrs. Behar, that the Christian faith is akin to a dangerous mental illness?”
Iger responded by saying, “I don’t know where I start. First of all, Joy Behar apologized to Vice President Pence directly. She made a call to him and apologized, which I thought was absolutely appropriate.”
Iger told the crowd he was “glad to hear” Behar apologized because he “takes exception” to what she said.
“I don’t think it was right,” Iger said.
Interesting turn of events, no?
So Disney made a “corporate apology” on behalf of Joy Behar to shareholders to protect its stock value. Meanwhile Ms. Behar didn’t apologize publicly to Vice President Pence at all. In fact she has contempt for him and all Christians. https://t.co/LNl8C8D05D

"Disney boss tells shareholders that Joy Behar says she's sorry for mocking VP Pence's Christian faith" sounds like the most insincere apology since @TamikaMallory refused to actually condemn her applause of radical hate preacher @LouisFarrakhan.

Good point. Where’s the full blown PUBLIC apology on “The View”? Why is Bob Iger doing it for her?
If you need me, I’ll over here. Waiting for her public apology. Probably forever.
