Happy 9th Anniversary To Us!!!!!

Holy cow, y’all – time FLIES.  I can’t believe it’s been NINE WHOLE YEARS since I looked at Mock across a table at a Mexican restaurant on the north side of Indianapolis and spewed one of my crazy Amy Jo-Daisy shower ideas, “hey, we should start a political blog…”

And so it began.  Our very first post was one about Nancy Pelosi and how she claps like a lobotomized monkey – 9 years ago TODAY.  And we knew that we were different.  After all, we’re not just ANY political blog.  We sounded different.  We looked different.  We just were and are different. We’ve always marched to our own beat.  Many have tried to copy our style in the past almost-decade.  Several (on the left) have even thrown down a gauntlet and told us that they’ve wanted to compete against us (those are my FAVORITE).  We usually give those folks about two weeks, though, as the Actual Work involved in our site is something most people don’t anticipate (they think it’s all stilettos and sunshine…bless their hearts).

It’s been a labor of love, this crazy-happy little site of ours.  One that had Mock and I working eeeeeaaaaarly mornings, lunch hours, nights, weekends, and during family vacations for those first four and a half years – while we juggled our other day jobs (and families!) with zero pay, mind you.  There were a few short-lived times when we thought about giving up – but we didn’t, because we always remembered why we started.  I remember when we got our radio gig, and we juggled that with a book deal and the site content and families and crazy hours and looking back on that time, we both wonder how we did it all and managed to stay happily married and keep our kids healthy and happy and remain sane through it all.  Now that we have been blessed with our Chicklets, we see an even brighter future for COTR, our ever-growing community, and we’re thankful for the divine way in which these lovely, brilliant ladies have come into our lives.

Our site has always been different, because of the people behind it.  Not to sound all hippie or anything, but we’ve stood the test of time, because of the sense of family behind our brand.  We’re a tight-knit little operation with a resolve for our country that is both palpable and passionate.  We believe in what we do with every ounce of our hearts – period.  And we adore the Chicks we do it with.

And we are humbled that you’re here with us, every day, cheering us on.  Supporting us.
