So. The Super Bowl. Obviously, I’m not happy with the results, but then I saw a video of an Eagles fan eating actual horse crap, and it inexplicably made me feel better.
At the end of the day, it’s just a game. It was still fun. I went to the store before the game, and there were a bunch of people wearing Pats gear. We just kind of smiled and nodded at each other (I was wearing a Gronk shirt). I love that. There’s something about the unsaid commonality that I love. That’s part of the reason I love football season. It gets our minds off the serious stuff that divides us. Unless of course you’re an insufferable lib who can’t watch a football game without trying to make a ridiculously idiotic political statement.

That dude writes for the Guardian, FYI. He’s the same dude who wrote this BS.
King was a socialist and anti-imperialist. And liberals sidelined his radical politics. I explain over at @ABCReligion https://t.co/icaQKW5eyi #MLK #MLKDay pic.twitter.com/sZtSDlNFBI

Someone please explain to me how or why white supremacy would come to mind in this situation? Both quarterbacks are white, and African Americans make up the majority of NFL players (what’s the number, like 70%). I mean, was this dude just trying to make a funny meme? Even if that’s the case, it’s still just as stupid. Why on earth would white supremacy be on your mind during the freaking Super Bowl?
Um….the other QB was white too. How do you get filled with this much hate?
— James Mays (@maysisme) February 5, 2018
Wow such white supremacists the Patriots are…
Not one minority player on the team… It's 100% white guys…
How STUPID are you? pic.twitter.com/WASlKHmVfY

Glad to see American can come together in unity and agree that this guy is a flaming moron.
Really? In a league that is 80% Black. That is the dumbest thing I read all night, good job sir.

This is just an idiotic take. Tom Brady is not the patriots, the patriots are a team of various races as are the eagles. Saying that Tom Brady = the patriots = white supremacy neglects the contribution of everyone on the team that isn't white

Nice try to bring race into it

Sometimes I think I've seen the worst twitter can produce but then I see this. And the divide grows deeper….

Perhaps you want to reconsider the wisdom in this. I say this as a Guardian subscriber who voted for Bernie Sanders in our state primary, HRC in the general election, and despises the entire Trump presidency.
