Prior to the Super Bowl, the current POTUS sits down for an interview. It’s tradition. Heck, President Trump sat down with Bill O’Reilly last year.
But this year? This year Trump isn’t interested in an interview.
“He is not doing a Super Bowl interview,” a White House official told CNN on condition of anonymity on Wednesday.
Sources at NBC affirmed that their interview requests have been turned down. But Trump still has an open invitation, should he choose to change his mind, the sources said.
NBC is televising the Super Bowl on Sunday. It is traditionally the highest-rated event of the year by far.
A pre-Super Bowl interview with the president has become an American tradition in the past decade.
Hmmmmm. I bet this has to do with his ongoing beef with the NFL and NBC. That has to be it, right?

Looks like there won't be a POTUS #SuperBowl cameo

Trump is now refusing to do a Super Bowl interview — and he hasn’t personally tweeted since Monday morning. He didn’t tweet after the SOTU, or even after Hillary went after him. (The tweets that are up are from staff.) Trump is intentionally being silent, the question is why?

Oh come on. Chill with the conspiracies.
Will Trump at least tweet during the Super Bowl? I mean, he has in the past.
Superbowl Sunday is a great American tradition. The Colts and Saints are already champions, but may the best team win!

As promised, my @SuperBowl pick is the San Francisco @49ers.

I can't get over, after all of the buildup, what a terrible game that was-the worst Super Bowl in history. The advertisers must be furious!

So far the Super Bowl is very boring – not nearly as exciting as politics – MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

What an amazing comeback and win by the Patriots. Tom Brady, Bob Kraft and Coach B are total winners. Wow!

I think he should do the interview dressed head to toe in Pats gear. Consider it, Mr. President.
