According to the reports, the terrorist used an ambulance (full of explosives) to pass the first security checkpoint. He told security that he was transporting a patient to a hospital. He detonated the explosives at the second security checkpoint.
“The majority of the dead in the attack are civilians, but of course we have military casualties as well,” Rahimi said. He said four suspects had been arrested and were being questioned but he didn’t elaborate.
The bombing sent thick black smoke into the sky from the site near the government’s former Interior Ministry building. Also nearby are the European Union and Indian consulates.
The powerful explosion was felt throughout the capital. At the scene, dozens of vehicles were damaged or destroyed. Several shops, including some selling antiques and photography equipment, were also destroyed.
The Taliban has taken responsibility. This is the “deadliest insurgent attack in the country so far this year.” The death toll stands at 95, but they expect the number to continue to rise. Many of those injured are in critical condition.

Dozens of people were killed and wounded last month after a suicide attack targeting a Shiite cultural center in Kabul. ISIS claimed responsibility. And just last week, 22 people died after Taliban terrorists attacked the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul. American citizens were among the dead and wounded.
This is so sad. That city is in shambles. Those poor, innocent people. I can’t imagine what they’re going through.
