Amber Tamblyn Calls Out Rose McGowan For ‘Shaming’ Women… and The Catfights Commence

Rose McGowan has been the most aggressively outspoken person to come out of the Harvey Weinstein situation.

Some take issue with that, as she also received a major settlement and kept quiet for years.

Anyway, much of what she has said and done has been legitimate – she has attacked much of Hollywood for staying quiet and being complicit to what happened. (again… she could have spoken out earlier, but what do I know.)

So now women are planning on wearing black gowns to the Golden Globes in solidarity… and she doesn’t like that. Not one bit.

Earlier this month, reports emerged stating actresses attending the Golden Globes will wear all-black clothing to protest sexual harassment in Hollywood and highlight gender inequality.

Sources at one publication stated high-profile names such as Jessica Chastain, Meryl Streep, and Emma Stone would all participate.

Rose McGowan has since spoken out against the protest, singling out Streep on Twitter and referencing alleged sexual assaulter Harvey Weinstein.

“Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black Golden Globes in a silent protest,” she wrote.

“YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly and affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa.”

Ok… maybe she’s not wrong. But again… she was silent for years too, was she not?

But is she taking her “kick a** take names” thing too far? Is she really being honest with herself here? She hashtags EVERYTHING with #ROSEARMY, which I personally think is oddly narcissistic…

Anyway… now she’s being called out for “shaming” a separate “women’s movement.”

It’s basically typical liberal infighting… and as always, it’s a hot mess.

Amber Tamblyn took to Twitter Sunday to respond to Rose McGowan’s criticism of a plan by some actresses to wear black to the Golden Globes next month in protest at sexual harassment in the industry.

McGowan, who has led the charge against Harvey Weinstein, claiming the producer raped her in 1997, described the move as a meaningless ‘dog and pony show’ and in a parting shot, suggested the actresses all wear Marchesa, the fashion brand of Weinstein’s wife Georgina Chapman.

But Tamblyn called the former Charmed star out for her Twitter comments, tweeting: ‘I do not support any woman (or man) shaming or taunting the movements of other women who are trying to create change. Telling us to all wear Marchesa? This is beneath you, Rose.’

Give me a BREAK. The woman who literally calls herself the leader of the “ROSE ARMY” is calling something a dog and pony show?

You’re dealing with Hollywood, darling… You could have been an administrative assistant somewhere nice and quiet if you wanted. You CHOSE the dog and pony show. Don’t act shocked by it.

Additionally…can you IMAGINE how Rose McGowan would react if someone told her they think the #ROSEARMY thing is narcissistic and attention seeking? Why not “women’s army” or something that’s not about HER? Yeah… she’d set that person’s house on fire.

And then, Alyssa Milano, who has already been SHREDDED by Rose, decided to add this bit of nothingburger to the mix.

Ok Alyssa, good for you.

Rose isn’t wrong. All of this “we stand by women. We are champions of women” BS is RIIIICH coming from people who all knew about and supported Weinstein for YEARS.

But should Rose back off from attacking women who are basically doing and saying the same thing she is?

Didn’t they ALL wait until now to speak up?
