An LA-based radio anchor has accused Sen. Al Franken of groping her and kissing her without her explicit consent.

There’s even a picture.
It’s hard to deny the photograph. It’s evidence.
You can catch up on the rest here.
Franken issued the lamest response ever.
“I certainly don’t remember the rehearsal for the skit in the same way, but I send my sincerest apologies to Leeann,” Sen. Franken said in a statement. “As to the photo, it was clearly intended to be funny but wasn’t. I shouldn’t have done it.”
He released a second statement too.
“I’ve told and written a lot of jokes that I once thought were funny, but later came to realize were just plain offensive,” Franken said. “But the intentions behind my actions aren’t the point at all. It’s the impact these jokes had on others that matters. And I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to come to terms with that.”

Maybe the photo would’ve been funny if they were ACTUALLY FRIENDS or something. But as far as we know, she hated him and he kinda, sorta knew that.
He’s a douchenozzle. To be fair, I thought he was a douchenozzle before this came out.
Now that everyone is aware that Franken is gross, other stuff from his past is rising to the surface. Most notably, this clip of him making a baby rape joke. A little context? Sure. This was during a 2000 Comedy Central Roast of director Rob Reiner.
“On a typical night, Carl [Reiner] would slip into Rob’s bed, roll him over, swab him down and say something like, ‘I’m thinking about hiring Morey Amsterdam to play Buddy Sorrell, what do you think?’” Franken said.
“Well, the success of The Dick Van Dyke Show changed things dramatically, Carl started inviting many of his famous friends to f*ck his son,” Franken continued. “That list includes some of the greats in comedy: Paul Lynde, Dom DeLuise, Rip Taylor, Danny Kaye, Charles Nelson Reilly and Rock Hudson – whom, I frankly don’t think is that funny.”
“Thank you for doing so much to make sure another kid doesn’t end up like you,” Franken added.
At Rob Reiner roast in 2000, Al Franken did an extended comedy bit @ Reiner anally raping his infant children. He is currently a US senator.

If anything else, this just goes to show that Franken has always been gross and has never been funny.
Update: Looks like he’s always had a special place in his heart for rape jokes.
In 1995, Franken suggested an SNL joke involving Andy Rooney talking about raping Leslie Stahl in her sleephttps://t.co/DjNasDPVEE pic.twitter.com/mqM9eFTVxR
