Things got real weird for Democrats today. Sen. Al Franken apologized for inappropriately touching a sleeping woman and shoving his tongue down her throat. (Two different occasions, by the way.)
Franken apologized and said he would “gladly cooperate” with an ethics investigation into…himself.
It’s interesting, because liberals are slowly beginning to realize that they cannot ignore the pervs on their side of the aisle. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue.
Chelsea Handler finally realized that, and Alyssa Milano is following suit.
Zero tolerance. If we don’t hold all accountable for horrible behavior — nothing changes. Sorry, @SenAlFranken you should not be in a position to represent the female constituents in your state. https://t.co/MrJi7QKCu1

Wow! She’s actually holding Franken accountable. It’s a Thanksgiving miracle!
Just one problem. Her followers are #triggered.
Alyssa I disagree. The current evidence is based on a single incident of bad judgment. An isolated and minor social error should not be catastrophic to a man's career (eg: this seems to have been non-contact). The problem is when a man has a pervasive pattern of abusing women.

Zero tolerance is too extreme & makes it too easy to deliberately sabotage someone's career with a single fake claim. A lapse in judgment about what is 'funny' is not the same as feeling entitled to a woman's body or efforts, or actively predating women.

I am waiting for other instances to be reported. If it's a pattern then yes, he should step down.

It was a crude and inappropriate attempt at a practical joke. It's still wrong, but like purse snatching is to armed robbery.

I agree completely. Not excusing Franken at all. But comparing that to a lifestyle of stalking and molesting 14 year-old high school girls? Both are wrong, but not equally criminal.

When I see hordes of women lining up in droves to accuse @alfranken of sexual ASSAULT, I’ll join the brigade marching against him. Until then, I’ll wait for the truth. This is set up for impact and I’m not falling for it.

Everyone should be held accountable but you read Franken's responses as opposed to Roy Moore there's a world of difference between them

Whoa! I think you are a great activist and I value your opinion. However, a little research first please on what happened.

This is not viable. As a gay black woman if I navigated my life with a zero tolerance policy I would have to leave earth.

Jumping the gun 2 early on this one Alyssa

This was a comic stunt. Not a “real” situation. He should be forgiven.

Interesting how their tune changes, huh?
