DREAMer Who Tried To Sue The Trump Administration Is Arrested At The Border For The Second Time

Juan Manuel Montes, one of Obama’s DREAMers, decided to travel back to Mexico last February. According to the original report, his DACA status expired because he failed to renew it, and he tried to sneak back into the United States illegally. He was deported, but he argued that it wasn’t faaaaaaaaaaair! They made him sign papers he didn’t understand because they were in English, or something! (BTW– this guy came into the country when he was 9. He’s now 23. There’s no excuse for not knowing English anymore.)

However, his lawyers claim he did renew it and was therefore protected through 2018. CBP disputed those claims. It claimed his status expired August 2015. But DHS supposedly conducted a detailed search and determined that his status was, indeed, valid until 2018.

There’s so much back and forth on this, but at this point, there’s saying he violated the conditions of his status. Hence, these consequences. Here’s the deal:

However, the DHS refutes Montes’ account of his detainment by CBP on Feb. 18, saying that he was detained on Feb. 19 after illegally trying to enter the U.S. from Mexico. That day, the DHS said Montes was interviewed by Border Patrol agents in Spanish.

The DHS said Montes left the U.S. without advance parole violating “the conditions of his status by breaking continuous residency in the United States by leaving and then reentering the U.S. illegally.” The agency said this terminated the protections granted to Montes under DACA, causing him to lose his status.

CBP officials said Montes was booked into the Imperial County Jail following his arrest this week on pending charges of re-entry after removal. No further details were released.

So that’s that.

Montes became known as the first DREAMer deported by the Trump administration. It sounds a lot meaner than it is. It’s not like he was minding his own business and BAM! Federal agents showed up to his home, arrested him on the spot and deported his sorry butt. He messed up. He chose to travel back to Mexico without following protocol.

He’s so used to getting special treatment that he probably thought he could get away with it. He tried to sue the Trump administration, to no avail. Since then, he’s been arrested yet again.

Yep. Arrested for the second time for trying to enter the country illegally. What a peach.

Juan Manuel Montes, 23, was arrested around 11:50 p.m. Monday near the border town of Calexico in Imperial County, California, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials.

Agents at the Calexico Border Patrol Station were notified by Remote Video Surveillance Systems operators that someone had made an illegal entry across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Montes ran approximately 200 yards north of the international boundary fence and laid down on the ground. When agents approached him, he attempted to run away, CBP said.

He was arrested after a short foot chase and transported to the Calexico Station for processing.

“Our agents witnessed and arrested (Mr. Montes) making an illegal entry into the United States for the second time this year,” said Assistant Chief Patrol Agent David S. Kim. “Border Patrol Agents will always stop, detain, and arrest anyone making an illegal entry into the country irrespective of their immigration or citizenship status.”

Wanna know what really gets me? His entitled attitude. As if the United States OWES him something. He really thinks he can just waltz in here as he pleases. He doesn’t HAVE to come here the right way.

That really burns me up.
