Sen. McCain Backtracks, Claims He DIDN’T Deliberately Insult Trump

Sen. John McCain has been awfully snippy lately. Of course I realize he’s currently battling a deadly illness. Heck, I’d probably be on edge too. But here’s the thing– HE SHOULD STOP “WORKING.” (I use the word “working” loosely. Congress. You know.) He should retire and spend time with his family. Why is he so hellbent on “serving”? GO HOME MCCAIN. Sit in your recliner, sip on some ice cold lemonade and watch “The Golden Girls.”

Like I said, he’s been snippy. The other day, he snapped on Fox News’ Peter Doocy.

Then he sat down for an interview and totally took a swipe at Trump over his Vietnam deferments.

“One aspect of the (Vietnam) conflict by the way that I will never ever countenance is that we drafted the lowest income level of America and the highest income level found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur,” McCain said. “That is wrong. That is wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve.”

Trump had five draft deferments during the Vietnam War. One of those was for bone spurs in his feet. McCain was referring to him. It’s obvious.

He’s wasting his time, deliberately trying to poke Trump. Except NOT.

That’s right, LISTEN UP FOLKS! You guys are all just a bunch of idiots, because McCain was NOT throwing shade Trump’s way.

Sen. John McCain on Monday said he doesn’t consider President Donald Trump a draft dodger, despite appearing to take a swipe at Trump on Sunday by criticizing people who “found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur” to avoid military service.

 

“I don’t consider him so much a draft dodger as I feel the system was so wrong that certain Americans could evade their responsibilities to serve the country,” the Arizona senator said Monday morning on ABC’s “The View.”

Oh yeah. He was on “The View.”

Elaborating on his Sunday comments, McCain said he was trying to highlight “one of the great inequities of the Vietnam conflict,” which he maintained was the fact that people of the lowest income were drafted while the wealthiest individuals were able to get a doctor to excuse them.

 

“I think that when we ask the lowest-income portion of our public to do our fighting and dying for us, that that’s disgraceful. Nothing makes me more angry than that,” McCain said. “If we were all asked to serve, wonderful. But if some of us are allowed not to because of our income or our position or our influence, then that is a disgrace.”

OK, sure. He explained it calmly on “The View,” but McCain lost his cool with reporters.

McCain, unprompted, just blasted reporters for saying his “bone spur” comment about draft-dodgers was targeted at Trump.
