I am convinced that designers no longer have any interest in designing work that flatters the human form or is even wearable.
They are now all in a race to see what the dumbest, ugliest thing they can come up with it.
Why? What’s the point. What are they aiming at with this?
This is what “High Fashion” looked like in the 1950’s
Swooooon. That’s Dior, and I would kill for it.
This is what “High Fashion” looks like now.
WTF happened?
Showing a Spring/Summer 2018 collection at Amazon Fashion Week in Tokyo this week, the brand Thibaut debuted a pair of denim pants that hardly even pants at all, with everything but the seams cut away and leaving just a thong-like foundation underneath.
The ‘edgy’ look is not available to buy, though it may hit stores next year. Now, it’s simply making waves on the internet as a concept that no one asked for.
The woman who modeled the jeans was also wearing what appeared to be an old pair of sneakers and a nude bodysuit.
On top, she wore the ‘jeans’, which had been ‘distressed’ beyond recognition. The designer seems to have taken a pair of scissors to the denim cutting out all the fabric in front and back.
And it’s not just the legs that are missing: the fabric over the pelvis and covering the butt is also gone, leaving behind just fraying seams that look like a flimsy cage outline.
‘Yes, thong jeans now exist and if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to start my official Make Jeans Whole Again campaign,’ quipped a writer for HarpersBazaar.com.
I don’t see why they’re bothering with making these available in stores EVER. Who is going to buy this?! WHO?!
They’re wearing dirty sneakers. And those body suits are an abomination.
Everything about this is heinous, and it makes me incomprehensibly angry.
So freaking stupid.
As you’ll remember, these are not the ONLY stupid butt-crack looking jeans that have come out lately. There’s these, too….
So sorry, Thibaut, but not only is your “fashion” hideous… it’s not even original.
NEXT.
