Was Dr. Seuss “Racist” When Michelle Obama Read It? Or Is It Only Racist When Melania Does?

The left is in full-blown psycho mode.

Yesterday I told you about a SJW elementary school librarian who rejected a book donation from FLOTUS Melania, because Dr. Seuss books were “cliché” and the whole thing was racist….or something.

Yes, really.

According to this:

In an open letter on Tuesday, Cambridgeport Elementary School librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro rejected a gift of several Dr Seuss books, saying their whimsical illustrations were ‘steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes’.

 

Now Twitter users – armed with photos of Michelle Obama reading Dr Seuss books to children during her time in the White House – are mocking those claims.

 

Earlier this month, the White House announced that one school in each state would receive a selection of Seuss’ books chosen by Melania, including ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ and ‘The Cat in the Hat’.

 

But Soeiro turned down the collection of almost a dozen books, saying in the open letter her school was award-winning and well-funded.

 

She continued: ‘You may not be aware of this, but Dr Seuss is a bit of a cliché, a tired and worn ambassador for children’s literature.’

 

She added: ‘Another fact that many people are unaware of is that Dr Seuss’s illustrations are steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes.

 

‘Open one of his books (If I Ran a Zoo or And to Think That I Saw it On Mulberry Street, for example), and you’ll see the racist mockery in his art.’
Neither of those books were included in Melania’s selection.

So um, did she only think Dr. Seuss was cliché and racist AFTER she received the books from Melania?

Ohhhh Liz. I hope you’re embarrassed. This is embarrassing.

Additionally, Queen Obama didn’t seem to have a problem with Dr. Seuss either.

So as I said… this had nothing to do with the books. This little doorknob just wanted to virtue-signal about how she was too good for Melania’s gift.

I wonder if she’ll issue some sort of response…. or just hide her head in the sand forever.
