Chuck Todd Doesn’t Understand The US Constitution. Like At All.

This is just embarrassing.

Supreme Idiot– and you’ll agree with that nickname after reading this– Chuck Todd wanted to freak his viewers out and show them who could very well be Alabama’s next senator: Roy Moore! He’s not only a conservative…he’s a CHRISTIAN conservative who “doesn’t believe in the Constitution.”

I’m not exaggerating. Todd actually said that, and he played a clip to “prove” it. In the clip, Moore tells a reporter that our rights don’t come from government. They come from God.

“Our governments don’t come from government,” Moore said. “They don’t come from the Bill of Rights. They come from Almighty God.”

Chuck… the founding documents acknowledge that our rights don’t come from government. That’s the whole point of the entire American experiment, ya ding dong. Our rights coming directly from God Himself– THAT’S THE BASIS FOR THE ENTIRE CONSTITUTION. The Founders explicitly laid that concept out in the Declaration of Independence.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

The Founders literally wrote that our rights came DIRECTLY FROM GOD. Because of THAT POINT ALONE, governments are instituted among men.

Government doesn’t give us rights. The Founders believed that too. So I guess they were a bunch of super scary Christian fundamentalists too, huh Chuck?

The sad thing is, most people watching his program were probably nodding along in horror.
