The latest jobs report is out, and things are looking up. According to the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor, the economy added 209,000 jobs in July. In addition, July set a record with the number of employed Americans. It increased by 345,000, bringing the total to 153,513,000. The number of Americans NOT participating in the labor force dropped to 94,657,000.
The U6 rate – the broadest measure of unemployment – stayed at 8.6% in July

The Labor Force Participation rate ticked back up to 62.9%, which is where it started the year in January

The number of people working part-time because they couldn’t find a full-time job went down 44k in July

The unemployment rate is currently hanging around 4.3 percent.
