If you’re keeping tabs on who’s leading in the “Insufferable Hypocritical Lowlife Progressive” contest, please move Al Gore to the top of the list.
As it turns out, Al Gore’s home uses 34 times more electricity than the average American household. I guess that means Al Gore contributes to our impending doom 34 more times than the average American. At least.
Another inconvenient truth? (See what I did there?) According to the National Center for Public Policy Research, Al Gore has “burned through enough energy to power the typical American household for more than 21 years” this year alone.
That’s right. This year alone. Hey– how else do you expect him to heat his swanky pool and power his front entry gate? Security is important!
Last September alone, Gore devoured 30,993 kWh of electricity. That’s enough to power 34 average American homes for a month. Over the last 12 months, Gore used more electricity just heating his outdoor swimming pool than six typical homes use in a year.
The National Center for Public Policy Research obtained the environmentalist’s energy-usage information from individuals at the Nashville Electric Service, the utility that provides electricity to Gore’s home and much of Middle Tennessee.
In 2007, the day after Gore won an Academy Award for “An Inconvenient Truth,” I revealed Gore’s hypocritically high electric bills. In some months, I discovered, his residence gobbled up to 20 times more electricity than the average American household.
That’s what gets me about these people. They’re all about preaching to us and telling us how to live our lives. Take cold showers! Ride your bike to work! Stop eating meat! Never let the water run! Don’t water your grass! Conserve, conserve, conserve!
Until Al Gore sells his riches, takes up composting, craps in the woods and joins the tiny house movement, I don’t want to hear a peep from him. Look in the mirror, Mr. My-Home-Uses-34-Times-More-Electricity-Than-The-Average-US-Household.
When a Sharkicane finally hits and kills us all, Al Gore can thank himself.
